I spent most of my career running businesses for Target.  A job I loved.  But my dreams were bigger.  And now I'm living them...

Small steps, big possibilities.

Small steps, big possibilities.

Many times, the enormity of where we are and where we want to go makes many of us stay right where we are.   When people “make it” it’s not typically because they took a giant leap in one direction.  It’s because they took a series of small steps and one day woke up in the right spot. Even if you’re not exactly sure where you want to go, doing nothing is not an option.  Taking small steps that will help you find your path.

For me, starting Fly Feet looked like an enormous leap from my corporate job to startup life.   But it wasn’t at all.  It was a series of hundreds of small steps.  Hundreds.  And as I look back, it started even before I knew Fly Feet was the destination.  I was always focused on just taking the right next step to continue learning, growing and building my skillset.  And then when I knew Fly Feet was the end game, I broke up the work into a million pieces and just kept checking things off the list.   Momentum is a crazy motivator.

So, as you think about your 2019 goals, your career, where you want to take your life – don’t get stifled by the enormity of where you are and where you want to go.  Your job is to maintain forward momentum by just taking the small and simple right next step over and over again.  Do that, and you’ll wake up having made the “leap”.

Honesty doesn't really build trust.

Honesty doesn't really build trust.
